Educational Background:
- MA, African Studies, University of London School of Oriental and African Studies
Professor William Hansen’s main research interests deal with race, ethnicity and identity, specifically the political and social thought of Frantz Fanon. He is also interested in comparative politics, democracy and socialist theory who has worked and taught on four continents. Hansen was an activist with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) during the 1960s and has remained a political activist since that time.
