Groundbreaking ceremony marks successful beginnings for AUN, attended
by numerous dignitaries.
October 25, 2004 marked the beginning of the reality of superior higher education in Nigeria. People from all works of life including cabinet ministers, state governors, members of the National Assembly and many ambassadors, witnessed this historic event. Nigerian President, His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo, laid the foundational cornerstone for the first phase of construction. The campus, which spans close to 200 acres, is expected to have 47 state-of-art facilities, resembling a first-rate university in America. Construction on the first four buildings by Julius Berger commenced on October 1, 2004.
After years of planning, collaboration and efforts, the AUN vision is becoming a reality --- New Concept, Fresh Options.
