DR. AJUJI AHMED

Dr. Ajuji Ahmed obtained his Ph.D. in Comparative and International Education at the University of London in 1987. He was appointed fellow in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy at the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, in the United States. Between 1987 and 1992, he pursued a memorable teaching career in a number of American Universities. He was Research Scholar at the Harvard Institute of International Development between 1989 & 1990); Visiting Assistant Professor, Center for African Studies, University of Florida (1990 to 1992); and Human Resource Consultant in Developing Countries under the auspices of the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
Dr. Ahmed taught briefly at the University of Maiduguri, where he had his undergraduate studies, before joining the Federal Civil Service in 1993. He served in the Nigerian Presidency as a top level planner until 1998, when he was appointed Deputy General Manager and Head, Planning and Monitoring at the Nigeria Health Insurance Scheme. Dr. Ahmed was central to Nigeria’s transition to the present democratic dispensation when he served as Secretary to the Program Monitoring Committee. A member of numerous academic and professional organizations, he is a regular contributor to many scholarly papers, on administration and planning in several reputable journals from across the world.
